When my bestie let me borrow her copy, I was incredibly excited. Though I had already heard plenty of positive comments about it, Anna and the French Kiss still managed to surpass my every expectation.
But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?
Anna Oliphant, aka Banana Elephant, and Etienne St. Clair are both such amazing characters; I could swear they were made for each other. This book was full of so much tension between them, but at the same time, there were some hilarious moments as well. Stephanie Perkins perfected the blend of romance and humor, drama and entertainment in Anna. I quickly lost count of the number of times I wanted to strangle someone just so Anna and Etienne could be together.
As for Etienne St. Clair as a literary crush, I was so head over heels. I mean seriously, a guy with a British accent who also knows French = total win! I'll admit that his height did bother me a little, but if someone like him really existed and I was in Anna's place, I'd live. :P
This is incredibly rare for me, but I really don't have anything negative to say about this book. It was just that brilliant. I've already read Anna's companion novel, Lola and the Boy Next Door, but I am so excited for the final installment, Isla and the Happily Ever After!
